A Review

HELLLOOOO people of the internet! I wrote this review a few months back for a friend of mine and I'd like to share it with you guys, you know, just in case you want to know what this movie is about bla, bla, bla.

500 Days Of Summer

Most people would think that “Oh God! It’s another chick flick. Ugh.” This is out of the question trust me when I say an omniscient narrator sets the film up early noting “this is not a love story”. I have to say that this movie really turns the table on how society thinks about women and men too actually. Watching this movie has really made me think that not only men would want “friends with benefits” women too want some action instead of being tied down to only one person. I’d say this movie is just another follow up from the Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis well known flick “Friends with Benefits”. I wouldn't say the same for “500 Days of Summer” though.

At the beginning of this movie I thought to myself gosh this is going to be a long night and as soon as the introduction of the cast members ended I swear I couldn’t stop laughing when Tom Hanson played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, kept smashing plates over a counter top. After that I was actually relieved to see that the level of comedy that the producers and directors have put into this movie. I like the way that they introduced Chloe Grace Moretz to play Tom’s younger sister, Rachel. I feel child actors and actresses are being underrated for being too young to act in movies such as this just because of the typical stereotyping that kids are not as open minded. Anyways, Rachel was great in this movie, playing the part of Tom sister, a friend, a companion and a great sister for giving advice for when Tom needs it. Overall, the casting of the movie was superbly done especially for picking Matthew Gray Gubler from “Criminal Minds” - a series to which I find really awesome- a friend of Tom.

After going into 20 minutes of the movie, I was sad yet surprised at Summer who was played by Zooey Deschanel who was actually in the movie “The Happening”, a supernatural thriller movie co-acting with Mark Wahlberg, which was an excellent film. Coming back to point, Summer struck me as an egoistic, and a stuck up woman. Seeing how she explained herself about not being interested in being in a relationship and that she does not believe in love to Tom and his friend McKenzie played by Geoffrey Arend at the bar. At this point, I was already on Tom’s side and the scene after they come out of the bar when Summer asked Tom if he liked her and when he said yes, she totally “friend zoned” him which literally means making Tom into just her friend nothing more, nothing less. Being said that she just wants to be friends, she looks him so adoringly in the eyes just before she leaves. I mean COME ON! That was uncalled for, plus you don’t tell a person “We’re friends” and then go up to the person and give the person a big kiss. Summer kept leading Tom on and being the love sick person that Tom is, he kept following her. It’s bad enough that Summer is toying with him, then leads him on and starts to get intimate with him just to end up telling him that she wants to keep it casual. At this point of the movie, it sucks.

So Tom’s adapting to this new “casual” thing and THAT DANCE NUMBER! Hall and Oates was a great band and the song “You Make My Dreams Come True” was unexceptionally one of the greatest old hits ever made in history and by now I’m thinking to myself that this movie has a great selection of great song and then I thought about how happy Tom was and about the whole situations. “Hey, whatever makes him happy is fine then. But what a stupid fool he is.” I thought to myself. He was happy to be with her but then again he already knew he wasn’t going to get anything out of it yet he seemed to enjoy himself. I guess I can’t cope up with that, but let’s be honest; any guy would have loved this “friends with benefits” crap. It’s just not up my alley to fool around with my friends. Why? Well first is because sooner or later people are going to find out and you will be faced with gossips. Secondly, you could lose your friend being in casual relationships like that. I certainly wouldn’t want to lose my friend because of sexual relationship that in the end doesn’t really work out.

Now she breaks up with him even when they weren’t really together? Summer has commitment issues. But then again, Tom is already ready to be friends with her again. What a stupid fool he is. Ladies and gentleman, if someone that you like is treating you like this, then just try to let go of that feeling that you think is love because trust me, I would never do or let anyone do this thing that Summer is doing towards Tom. If you want to be friends then just be friends and not go about to having sexual relations or else it could just get ugly. Poor Tom. Summer was in denial about having feelings for Tom and it was obvious. I think that it’s great she’s opening up and tearing down the wall, the barrier between them. When everything seemed like it was going great BOOM! “This is not how you treat a friend!” Tom stole the words right out of my mouth when Summer tried to pull that “friend” crap again right after Tom tried to defend her at the bar from that douche. I’m here thinking “THANK GOD! He finally came to his senses!” Summer appears at Tom’s doorsteps and goes “I like you” … I mean come on is that all that took? Tom I want to kick you right in the head. At this moment I thought the relationship was actually going to go somewhere and the moment ends when day 314 arrives showing a depressed Tom. Oh no… “What did she do this time…?” I couldn’t help but sympathize. Poor Tom. Days passed by and well he’s getting worse and worse and the part when he talks to this blind date he says “… she’s an evil, emotionless, miserable human being or a robot.” YES, YES SHE IS BOTH.

Day 402 and I am about ready to scream my lungs out. What are the odds that Summer would be in the same train heading to the same place and so they rekindle the spark again but to no avail. I think Summer really had problems that she couldn’t fess up to. The split screen at the party… the “expectation” and the “reality”, broke my heart. I was also expecting that they would just fall in love again but then reality shows us that we don’t really get the things we want and the way we want it which sucks and it really makes you think of how this scene really do happen in a person’s mind and with that I think it was a brilliant idea to portray what Tom wanted to happen to what really is happening. What was happening? Well she’s engaged that’s what’s happening.

It’s sad to see what one person can do to another. Summer totally ruined Tom in a sense that them breaking up ended up in Tom quitting his job and just still finding the courage to get back up and start back what he thought was just a silly dream – being an architecture. Bumping into Summer at their favorite place made me tear a little because I could hear the hurt in Tom’s voice but he got closure which was all he really needed to move on from the girl he once loved deeply and going to an interview just to bump into a pretty woman who’s there to also apply for the job position that just significantly and coincidentally named Autumn. What a coincidence… Autumn, Summer. As the narrator said, “… coincidence that’s all anything ever is. Nothing more than coincidence”.

This movie makes me want to hate it and love it at the same time. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me being stereotypical about not getting a happy ending and by happy ending I mean Summer and Tom together. But the alternate version is pretty ok too. In short, this is one movie I would definitely recommend for couples to watch or maybe couples- to- be to watch. For guys who are trying to get the attention of your friend that you really like, I’d say this is the perfect movie to watch. The wittiness, the sadness and the happiness of people that are meant to be together but just cannot accept the facts that they have very different needs. A forbidden love that was never supposed to be.

P.S: I couldn't be too vulgar on this post because like I said, this review was for a friend of mine who is in college. OH, the movie sucked. Thank you.

Fight Fight Fight!

Yesterday was... Hmm... Interesting? Ok yes, let's go with interesting. This post is going to be for my fellow Machas and Machis of Malaysia. I would apologize if this is going to involve some touchy subjects for the Indians of Malaysia, but then I will not. Why? Because I refuse to do so.

In this post, no names will be revealed, locations will be disclosed. This could even be just fiction. No, I lie. It did happen and I want to share.

I'm Indian. I'm Filipino too. I have friends. Of all ethnicity. I'm hot tempered. Really hot tempered.

Being in a class full of whiny, noisy, irritating students got the best of me today. I mean aside from the fact that I'm 19 years old sitting around with a bunch of 17, 16 and 15 year olds of course. Oh did I mention, they were all machas, machis, sadachis and sadayens ( not being a racist ) that were all of the lower class. I mean last class student. Now, of course I'm not insinuating anything. There were students studying, talking and sleeping. The ones i got irritated with were the machans and the minachis.

At least I was stuck with a bunch of kids I already know.

* A wild friend appears from no where*

Friend : Dei, the class I jage so bad la... I cannot handle. The Indian girl tell me to shut up dei...
Me : What the fuck? Yenna la... You just take charge here, I'll go take your place.

Upon entering the class, I noticed 2 group of Minachis.

1st group : A row of 5 girls doing their school works.
2nd group: A circle of what seemed like 5 girls sitting and doing nothing...

So it was evident to me that group number 2 had a bit of an attitude problem. I'm not being stereotypical, it was just too obvious. They just gave me that famous Indian cock stare and rolling their eyes and what not. One minachi in particular caught my eye, the leader. I stared. Granted, I shouldn't have stared, but I wanted to figure out what these girls were about. I mean come on, ''Shut up" ?! These girls are 2 years younger than us and the level of disrespect is too damned high.

* Wild friend enters class *

Me : Which one told you to shut up?
Friend : The one sitting in the middle la, the fat one.

Just as I thought... The leader. No, she wasn't fat. She was tall and plump. I kept staring at her just waiting to for her to make a move so I can bust her ass...

Me : Tell me what happened exactly.
Friend : No dei, I told them why talking talking, take a book and study la.. Then the fat one said " No we wont study, shut up"

Or something like that. I kinda forgot.. But the shut up part was really said. By then my temper rose.

***
I'll continue with what happened but before that I just wanted to share some stuff.

Yesterday we were was assigned a class to "take care" off ( "we" being me and a few friends ). Upon entering the class, I just sat and observed at all the students. Most of the students were all Indian boys. Now, I know most of them and I was glad but then again I saw another side of them that I've never really seen before...

FOOLS. FOOLS everywhere.

These students are 16 and 17 year old's. What is happening here?! I've had a fare share of being exploited on the internet mainly on Facebook because apparently I don't dress according to the Indian codes. And in my head I'm like just thinking to my self

" Assholes be mad at me for wearing shorts in public and they be praising these minachis because they wear punjabi suits when they go out"

No, I don't know who these girls are nor have I any idea of their backgrounds. First impressions are important. These girls took the famous Indian cock stare to a whole new level. The feeling of wanting to just gouge their eyes out crossed my mind so many times it became annoying.

OK, OK! I know, I'm just crapping. What happened was a fight. There I said it. I am ashamed of my actions, frankly dear, I don't give a damn. They had it coming and so did me and a friend of mine. The thing I was that I wanted to settle but of course, we Indians don't really settle without making a big scene.

Note: Actual conversation was in Tamil, but I can't spell all the Tamil words, so I've interpreted to English

Minachi : AKKA! I WILL WAIT FOR YOU AFTER SCHOOL!
Me : Wait all you want ( not giving a single fuck of course )

Yes, she did call me Akka. Throughout the whole day.

Kalembe Akka!
Kalembe Ka!
Kalembe di punde!

No, I did not move. I try and I try and what do I get? A punch in the face. Course, I was no saint people. I was being a bitch too. The more she shouted, the more I kept talking. YA LA! People walking away means just shut up and go about your business la...

This girl kept barking. Barking. BARKING. What was a girl supposed to do? I confronted her right after school, and I tried settling, but no, she wouldn't have any of it.

Long story short ;

Young, stupid Indian girl : 0
Older, stupid mixed girls : 1

No. I am not proud of what happened. It sickened me. To see these young girls, turning out into these vicious savages. Oh and I asked around and found out that her brother was this big time gangster and this girl is notoriously famous. To everyone that I've inquired about this girl, this was what all of them had to say;

Note: This was an actual conversation. I wouldn't gain any benefit for just making this up.

Macha : Parachi la Akka that girl.
Me : Parachi? Why?
Macha's friend : Because her family all gangster la Akka, that's why she think she taiko.
Me :

Seriously? ...

I'm a fan of Comedy Macha's and Machi's in Facebook. I really do believe that they are genuinely trying to make a change in the Indian community. I support them all the way. After witnessing firsthand, I can definitely say that I am ashamed to see the future leaders of this nation. I truly am. OK yes, you must be thinking

What's the difference between you and the girl since you also fight with her?

There is a big difference. I respect my elders. Even if they are just a few years older than me, I respect them.  Granted I have lots of friend that are a few years younger than me, and yes I call them stupid, idiot, fool, etc. No, I'm not being a hypocrite. They are friends. I know them for years. They let me joke around with them hence, I joke around. But to the people that I've just met, yes, I give the utmost respect. Why? Because that is how I think it should be. Course, if the person is being a total shithead then no la, I will not respect you.

But you get the point right? One Akka just told you to take a book and study for awhile since there is free time, you don't just tell the Akka to "shut up". You don't want to study means just say so. WHY THE RUDENESS. There is fault on my side too, I shouldn't have stared at these girls. That would be my only mistake.

After everything that has happened, all I could think of is as follows :

The older generation Macha's and Machi's think that just because Indian girls are dressed like this

are ruining the names of the Indian society. Yenna la?

And of course seeing a girl dressed like this

are the ones saving the Indian reputations.

Only thing is the girls that are in shorts are actually

taking names and just looking fabulous while doing it.

Whereas, the ones that people think are the good apples are

just going bad. Really, really fast.

Never judge a book by it's cover.

I'm sorry if it looks like I'm taking sides here... I'm not. I am apart of this Indian community as well. I've help as much as I could and I still am. I know a lot of these kids that are just lost and I've made them see the light. Fights, booze, and gangs are not the only things that have corrupted these youngsters. Their families share and equal part in all of this madness.

Witnessing this happen right before my eyes, no, witnessing this happening to me is what that has really just compelled me to try harder in making a change. I'm changing myself too of course. Like I said, I am no SAINT.

I try to help and advice as many and I can, friend of mine have seen me do so. I get all emotional when I get into this subject. It does hurt just looking at these kids that you've known for year just deteriorating right before your eyes. It is really hard. I've actually lost hope for some of the kids that I've known. Why? Because I feel like I'm talking to a rock. No matter how many times I try to mold it, it'll just stay it's shape. So I've lost hope on some of the kids that I've known. And as for the ones that I can still try and push them towards the positive things in life, I keep pushing.

I guess what I'm just trying to say is, I'm sad. Sad to see kids turning out like this. And I'm sorry if I've offended anyone that reads this. Thank you .

Unfinished Story Part 3

The drive back home was excruciating, the traffic was incredible. I wondered how people can stand being stuck in one place and not getting out of their cars and screams aimlessly at other drivers. I sure as hell would have done it.  But it gave me time to think. Think about what I’d do to fill the void that was in my life again. I have to take up yoga again, hit the gym, and go to clubs, hang out with friends that I had abandoned because of some jackass that I thought who’d love me.

Time passed so quickly. It was a minute ago when it was just 9.00 P.M, and now looking at the clock that’s hanging crookedly over the wall of my apartment, it was already 12.30 A.M. I walked sluggishly pass the kitchen to my bedroom too exhausted to change my clothes or wipe away my makeup. The bed felt so nice against my tensed body. At this extent of my life, I felt like killing myself. I fell into unconsciousness, into a deep sleep, into a dreamless slumber.

I could feel my face burning but I couldn't care less. Then I remembered. “Crap!” I muttered holding the alarm clock that I snatched from the dashboard of my bed. I was late for my literature class. I wanted to stay in bed the whole day but I didn't have the heart to skip my most favorite class. I made myself wake up then I realized what made my face burn. It was an open window that I don’t remember opening.

I felt really uneasy all of a sudden. Felt like someone was in the apartment with me. I wasn't going to take any risks. I almost forgot where I kept my baseball bat and there it was. It was next to my clothes cupboard. I rushed towards it grabbing it by the end ready to swing.

I can honestly say I've never felt this scared in my whole life but I had to check if there really was someone in here. I took two cautious steps towards the door and just leaned against it, from here I could see the sofa outside. Living room seemed clear. My fear wasn't going away though. I still had to check the kitchen. I turned around facing the door now. I took the quickest glance towards the kitchen and saw absolutely no one. God knew how much I was thanking him right now.

“What’s wrong with you,” I mumbled under my breath heading towards the kitchen.
Right at that moment I shrieked till I could hear my eardrums beat against my head. “Matt! What the fuck are you doing here! ”

I saw Matt against the kitchen counter in a fetal position with a whisky bottle in his hand. He looked like he wasn't breathing. I don’t know what came over me but I found myself kneeling over him shaking him like I was a crazy person. “Matt! Matt! Matthew! Wake up! Can you hear me? Matt!”

Unfinished Story Part 2

***

I never knew I had the strength to slap someone that hard. People always said “you can do crazy things when you're mad” never thought they were right. I couldn't believe the pain that I was in, the anger, the sadness I felt deep inside of me. I always thought he'd love me forever and never ever hurt me. I though wrong.

I thought he was strong enough to get away from her. Leaving him behind and walking towards the door like this really seemed wrong to me. Some part deep inside of me though he really was telling the truth about him still loving me but then I shut that side out and started cursing myself for being so desperate to even have thought of that.

I could hear him calling after me when I reached my car. I'd have to face him sooner or later but for the time being, I much prefer later. I needed to get my head straight, get my mind to cope with all of these new changes. I needed to think what would be my next move…

My mind went numb after a few minutes into driving, I knew I had to stop of else I’d definitely get into a car accident. I saw a gas station on the side of the road and pulled over far away where people couldn’t see me cry like a maniac. The events of the evening kept repeating itself in my head.

“I know what I did was wrong but I still love her.”

Those words kept repeating in my head like an old record player that’s scratching the same tune over and over again. I wanted to break it with my bare hands.

I don’t know where he’d find the audacity to say that he still loves her to me. She’s he’s ex for Christ sake! An ex is an ex because you dumped the person or the person dumped you! You have to be mad at the person! Not still be in love with her!

I could just see him getting back with her... The love of my life was going to slip into the arms of he's former flame. But wait! Why the fuck should I care? He doesn't love me! He loves that psycho! He never cared for me… He played me for a fool! Made me fall in love with him just so he could break my heart into tiny little pieces…

“I love you…”

The Beginning

Hello people of the internet ! As some of you might have noticed, I've published my story! Well, just bits of it  actually.....

There were some flaws to it like the font because I just copied it from Microsoft words and pasted it on here and I forgot to change the font. My bad. I should probably delete it and redo it but then again I MALAS ( if you're not Malaysian, it means LAZY ) so I wont be deleting it.

I thought about doing a summary on each time I post about the story and then I thought to myself again
"Are you really going to summarize the story every time you post pieces of it? I mean honestly, are you really going to do it Theresa?" - The voice in my head.

So NO. I aint got no time to be doing that. I sorta, kinda like the story if I do say so myself and I'll be posting another piece after this. BY THE WAY, the story is not actually done but I have written a lot if it already and I'll continue it if there are actual people viewing it.

Why you should read this story :

1 - Because you have nothing better to do

2 - Because it's a twisted love story
( actually no, I lied. I don't know what this story is about)

3 - Because it's cool to read

4 - Because isuatfgeqprigfer98gerqwuqgerfiufgu . Yes.

Thank you, I hope you enjoy.

Sincerely, The Freak.

Unfinished Story Part 1

“How could you!” I demanded.

“I’m really sorry baby but I just want you to know,” He murmured.

“It was better off if you didn't tell me anything,” I snapped in one short breath because it was getting harder for me to breathe.

“So I can live a lie? Look, I know what I did was and is wrong but I still love her,” He said in the gentlest way possible.

“Then why were you still with me when she returned? Just to hurt me even more? How can you do this to me! I trusted you..." I snapped again. I could barely breathe.

“I love you,” He whispered, holding my arm.

“BULLSHIT!” I couldn't help but scream and smack his hand away with so much force that I could have sworn I sprained my wrist.

“Please listen to me... She was my first… I couldn't forget her and now that she’s back, telling me stories of what had happened to her... I couldn't help but sympathize. She’s in so much pain… I couldn't just leave her like that,” he explained.

“And you think I'm not in pain?” I tried to say with a stern voice but it just gave way.

“No, I didn't say that Jay, please don’t twist my words around,” Matt said with a sympathetic tone.

“So I'm the one who’s twisting now. You know what; I don't know what I'm doing still talking to you. It was nice while it lasted,” I muttered under my breath while half walking half sprinting towards the door.

“No please Jay. I love you... I need you…” I could barely hear him, but I still did.

LIES and STORIES

Yes. I lied. I thought I would post something everyday but then

But I do apologize. I've been busy with this fiction story that I've been working on and I will most definitely be posting the parts that are done. One problem though, I have no tittle for this story. I started writing this last year on paper and then I thought to myself

" DAYUM, this is a pretty OK story".

So I transferred everything to my laptop and I continued on with the story. BUT I stopped writing ( of course). Just before I saved it to the laptop, I had to put a tittle on so I typed in "Unfinished Story".

After awhile, I forgot about the damn story and went on with my pathetic life. And now that I'm back on blogger, a friend reminded me about that story and that's when it hit me! I should continue it! And I'm going to do it here. Or at least I'll try.

The story isn't half bad. So far at least. I mean I'm not tooting my own horn but I don't know. I've reread it, and yeah it's not THAT bad.

ANYWHO, I'll post the first half of it and I hope you guys will enjoy :)

PS: This story has no genre so far. I mean the starting is a little girlish with heartbreak and shit, but it has potential to turn into wholeeee different genre. I'm just going to let my imagination run free with this on. So to the guys that are actually reading this ; don't worry. It won't be too GIRLISH.

I hope. NGEHH.
